Good morning all!

Well, I am not feeling very emotionally strong today, it is the first time I have had to face my days off from work, since I got sober . ( was on 4 weeks leave).

It is now 7:14 am, lol and I would usually be shutting the curtains, and opening my first beer . ( good look eh? ) It is a bit early to ring my sponser , but , I will soon, and I WILL get to a meeting ! quickly !

I am going to make my list in a minute , for those of you who know me , you know I need my list of 3 things to do today, lol It is silly but it seems to help me stay focused on today, and to get things done , that I would normally let go.

I have always drunk on my second day off, all day , cos I could , all day to fill in, and no work tomorrow ! BGut I wont today !

Sorry for rambling guys , just had to say something

Hi Justme:

I just want to point out to you that you are doing a great job! Keep up the meetings and DON'T SHUT THE CURTAINS!

Try and keep busy..call your sponsor....maybe go out shopping or at least looking around. Just remember how much you have accomplished thus far and take it one day at a time!

YOU CAN DO IT HONEY, YES YOU CAN!

I just got back from taking the dog for a walk, which is different lol I did not expect to feel like this , but I can feel the procrastination creeping up on me

I WILL certainly ring my sponser , and definitely get to a meeting !

All done , have rung her , and as usual, she was great , said to ring her after lunch, am only coping with 1/2 a day at the moment

Hi Lee,

Remember thinking that drink through to the end. Horrible hangover, remorse...all the good stuff that comes with picking up a drink.

For me today it is not worth the stress and the trouble. If I start again I fear I won't come back this time.

Please get to a meeting and glad you called the sponsor. You are doing exactly what you should be doing when you are having a rough time. If you work it, it works! You will be fine...just talk to the sponsor and remember that last drunk! It is simple...don't drink today. Put it off until tomorrow...chances are by the time tomorrow gets here you won't want a drink. My sponsor tells me to do this and it works for me. By the next day I have no intention of drinking...so stay sober today.

Strength and love to you Lee. You can do it because you ARE doing it.

Lee you should be very proud of yourself! You did everything right. You knew to be prepared and make your list and call your sponsor and come here. You were ready for anything and you made it through! Way to go!

hey mate look at what you have acheived so far:

you stayed sober over the holidays, very hard, especially when it is normally considered party time, time to let your hair down, you got through your first days back at work without a drink, again an awesome effort.

so you have created new patterns "when i am holidays i dont drink", "when i am at work i dont drink"

today is the opportunity to create a new pattern called "on my day off i dont drink".

you have done the others so well, this should be a doddle for you, just break the pattern, my days off i drank cool drink, watered the garden - take spot for a work, do other relaxing down time things!!

Thank you my dear friends !

I am getting there , just got back from the store , for groceries , was a bit scared going , cos the bottle shop is right there , but ran in, and ran out, caught the bus and I am home again, GROGLESS! thank god !


Kath: Spotted one has already taken me for my walk! lol HE is lying in the sun, like a discarded face washer , I , am doing the pacing, and have the headache ! Grr!

This has really surprised me, anxiety, headache, and even the goosebumps , and the paranoia , oh! well, just for today , it is 1/2 over , I WILL do it

I don't know what I would do without you lot , I really don't

Well the day is over ! and I did NOT pick up! praise God !

Got to a meeting tonite, feel much better , my poor Sponser , I ended up having to ring her , and ask her to take me , but she did , wonderful.

Well, tomorrow is another day

Well, tis the morning of a brand new day today !
I havewn't got the anxiety i woke with yesterday, and have my day planned , in case I am ambushed again, but feel fine this am !

I was able to share what happened yesterday at my meeting , and since there was another newcomer there, it may have helped them, I hope so.

Got my list , and have my meeting organised for today , so I am well armed .

Glad to see you made it! Sorry it's been quiet from me for a bit, but been working and sleeping mainly.
