New Again
New Again
Years ago I had terrible issues with drinking. I had multiple DUI's and multiple treatments. It seemed at times the harder I tireid the worst I got. Finally I tried some alternative groups LSR, SOS, etc adn began having some success. I have "mostly" stayed sober for over 20 years now, but have had horrendous slips. The last begin the last 11 days. I have a lot to lose that I thought at a time I would never could have imagined having, wife, son, home, great job etc.
I think it time I buckle down and include AA. I also think it time I "fully" surrender and admit defeat (as least in regards to alcoholism. I only post this as a conffessional really, because I always go months or more and not drink only to succumb again, dust myself off and never admit the issue. Though a horrible experience I guess I should count myself lucky in some respects. I got a PD, which could have been worse, but the worst part is upsetting my wife and child. I really don't know where I am going with this other than to publicly surrender for once adn move forward. I have been following these threads through Google Reader for some time. Often I have offered my 2 cents. Today ai just want to listen. Thanks for listening to me.

When I began working my AA Steps I shifted from shakey sobriety into solid recovery..
I have seen many others in the rooms have that experience so I'm glad you will be adding AA into your life.
Welcome back...
