Black out I know nothing about you...no pun intended!

So I was thinking as I do, to me a blackout is not remembering the night before or whatever before it was for you. But what actually happens to your brain!? Is there any actual evidence of whats going on up there for this blackout to occur? I know the obvious why it happens and what happens, guess im looking more for a physiological answer. What do you know?

What Happened? Alcohol, Memory Blackouts, and the Brain

I didn't know but after your question I decided to find out.

Thanks for the link, one line really caught my attention,

If recreational drugs were tools, alcohol would be a sledgehammer.

Unfortunately, I've been hammered more than a few times.

One of our sticky posts .....

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...influence.html

opened my eyes to blakcouts. The book convinced me to finally quit.

I'd been a blackout drinker for years..and thought all drinkers were too.:
As soon as I stopped drinking....the blackouts stopped immediately.

Also...the information posted about why I returned to drinking after my decision to stop was vital.
While not everything in the book 'Under The Influence" fit me...more did than did not...
