I completely agree with you that three miles doesn't cut it. My goal is a minimum of three miles. That is my "rest day".

Honestly, I would recommend being cautious to avoid making a compulsive habit out of any activity. Would it be possible to make a long-term fitness goal to reach, instead of something that will upset you if you don't complete it everyday? For example, a goal to be conditioned enough to run X amount of miles in X time? I say this just because in my own experience I have found that it's very easy to get addicted to exercise or food control, and it hasn't been particularly healthy for me. Your desire to be fit, of course, is admirable!

LOL! Unless you intend to break the speed limit, I don't see any down side to picking up what is closer to a healthy habit than an addiction.
