Simply Amazing - Day Two Sober
So, it was a short night last night. Worked late and came in early. Tired and a little down as a result. Made some bad food choices last night and today, but I can get back on track with the diet this evening. The main thing is that I don’t hit my favorite store on the way home today, and I won’t. Even as I type this my brain is trying to rationalize having a beer or two won’t hurt anything. It is truly amazing to me the power addiction has. I’ve seen it on shows about drugs and just thought how sad and powerless crack addicts looked and must feel as they watch this substance dismantle their bodies and lives. The whole time never holding up the mirror to see what alcohol has been doing to me for the last 18 years. Never seeing the parallel of powerless behavior and repeating bad decision after bad decision. Simply amazing.
So, tired and stuffed, but sober.

Good to see you again....
I really think you are doing marvelously for someone
so new to sobriety! Keep in focus....you too can
win over alcohol.....
Drink a lot of water....it helps flush the toxins.

Yea it is very powerful stuff.
Several times I thought I had it beat, and it kept coming back.
I finally got to the point I wouldn't let it beat me, with the help of AA.
Hang in there and don't give in.
There is nothing like having the monkey off your back.
I wish you the best.
