I tried my EAP, but all it consisted of was 3 telephone "consultations", and both the EAP provider and me agreed that I need a whole lot more help than that.. so I think it just depends on what the EAP program entails.. mine wasn't squat. Ended up seeking out a psychologist that was covered through my insurance, who I saw 2x a week in person for about 6 months.

I used mine. I called the 1-800 number that is posted all over my office, and spoke to someone about my "problem." The people on the phone then gave me the names of a couple of therapists who specialize in addiction in my area. I set up an appointment and 6 months later I am still seeing the same therapist. For me its been very helpful.

I'm actually planning on calling mine this week... Had an 'incident' at work yesterday....

(grrrrrrr to myself)

Luckily my boss totally kicks ass and didn't fire me.........

He just wants to help.... so he gave me the number..

I already have a counselor that I love... and just started going back to see him last week... so based on what yall have said so far about these programs, I'm not sure what help it'll be to me...

Worth a shot, still tho I guess.

I'll let ya know how it goes!

(((debs))))

Accept the offer for help. Do call the EAP and see what they have to offer. They should understand your company-insurance and should know where to refer you for the best help.

Inpatient may be your best bet at this point. It was for me. Please let us know what you decide.

Love,

Lenina
