26 days - Newbie
Hi Everyone,
Not sure where to start, but decided it was time to say hi. I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks now and I'm very grateful I found it. Today is my 26th day without alcohol, I'm 28years old and I've decided it's finally time to quit. Since it's my first post I don't wanna make it long with all the details, but I can see myself in a lot if not most of the stories on here. Had my first drink before I was 15 and it's been a struggle since then.
When I was younger the thought of never drinking again truly terrified me, I was envious of my friends/family that could drink without a problem. My only fear now is to one day cave in to the urge and start my binging again. The first days were a bit rough, panic attacks, unable to sleep, all sorts of funny things that scared me so I went to the dr. Right now I'm feeling much better except for the panic attacks that come without warning and leave me feeling drained.
Thanks for reading everyone!

Glad you found us & decided to jump in. There's tons of support here so share what you feel comfortable sharing. Take things one Day at A Time so you're not worrying about the future. If you're worrying about tomorrow it keeps you from enjoying today.
God Bless,
Judy
