Finally... "out of the fog"
Hi everyone. Today is day 11 for me and yesterday I can finally say my mind started to clear just a little bit!!! I'm going to a lot of meetings, working with a sponsor, taking Camprel, reading the big book every night, and use this forum daily. I feel like I'm arming myself with every sobriety tool I can. I really feel different this time around. I have tried AA 3 or 4 times before, but never have really "worked" the program. This time, I am working it to the best of my ability. I am taking myself out of the equation. Instead of coming home when I'm tired, I am making myself go to meetings. I am working a 4th step with my sponsor next Saturday.
Good luck everyone! It's Monday and I am NOT hungover. My life is just flat out better when sober.

Thats really positive man!!! Yep the steps, as quickly as possible to the best of your ability...your sponsor can emphasise the thorough and rigorously honest bit hehe
Well done on this decision, really wish you the absolute best:-)

The 1st. sign I had about becoming "de fogged"
was when I could again finish the newspaper Crosswords
Next was when I no longer needed a list of rotating outfits.
I was always in fear I'd wear the same thing twice ..
Good to know your making progress HD.....

And that's EXACTLY it -
PICK UP the tools...
and dang - they will work!
So good to read something like this!
I'd say you're coming out of A fog but not THE fog hahaha. I know what you mean though. For me, I came out of a fog and then x amount of time later I came out of another fog and that went on for years! The longer you stay sober, the clearer things become. More will be revealed. I'm glad that you are sober and safe and pray that you remain that way.
