Made it through week 1 of Rehab :-)
Hello Everyone
Just updating everyone who was interested.
I officially made it through detox and to day 7 of rehab. I was REALLY scared going in and was very anxious.
I really made the right decision! My first week was no picnic, but I feel great, I feel 1000X better now, and I have great confidence and hope that I will be successful.
I decided on a place in CA and here is the good and bad:
Good:
1) People and staff are all very understanding and nice
2) I have really bonded with the group of people here (all for different drugs and/or alcohol). Everyone is unique.....different ages ranging fro 19 to 65.
3) Everyone's story is helpful and inspirational
4) I have accepted meetings and 12-step and am going everyday
5) I have one-on-one therapy everyday and it is very helpful
6) I have group therapy everyday from 10 to 3 and the exercises are also very helpful
7) I meet with a shrink once per week (TBD)
Not so good:
1) Detox rough but not as bad as I expected (had the help of anti-withdraw meds)
2) One employee had a relapse on my second day.......bad but a good learning for me and it was handled well
3) Not sleeping good and having very vivid dreams when I sleep
Anyway, I am feeling good and happy to share my experience thus far
