Man it's nice not to wake up hungover :)

Just thought I would share how nice it is not to wake up in a panic or a daze or a fog, or with people mad at me wondering WTH happened last night etc...
or paranoid.

Gotta love living sober

Merry Christmas everybody

Happy Christmas

I certainly don't miss hangovers!

What a great day it's been. My son sang in an Anglican children's choir with a couple thousand people in attendance. He wore a traditional red choir robe with white apron and hated it because "Mom, this is a dress," so he sulked through the concert...

The church service had a children's Christmas pageant with adult actors in gorgeous costumes. After which, we all came home for a lovely traditional Christmas meal, opened up two presents-- one for Christmas Eve, and the other as a reward for my son singing in the choir when he really didn't want to... Ah, little boys! Then we had some Silk egg nog (non-alcoholic of course) with a slice of inedible fruit cake, but the coffee tiramisu and angel cake made up for the bad fruit cake.

Now a plate of carrots and cookies have been set aside for Santa and his reindeers. We're enjoying Christmas movies by the fireside and will shortly retire to reading "Twas The Night Before Christmas."

It's a good life.

I so don't miss those mornings that moved into full day hangovers.
No matter how difficult a morning I may be having I'm grateful that I can deal with them without that clouded, angry head.
I'm having a rough Christmas eve and worrying how I'm going to deal with it and feeling guilt that my actions may be causing someone I love pain.

Merry Christmas and a good year to everyone!

Having a clear head in the morning is one of the nicest aspects of sobriety. I guess I've never woken up and said, Dang, sure wish I had a hangover.

It's especially nice this time of year, especially if you have family around.

This is the first Christmas morning in a long time, that I have awoken with no hangover and very little anxiety. I thank my Higher Power for that! Merry Christmas to everyone!

I remember two Christmas's ago I stayed up Christmas Eve by myself setting up our dining room for Christmas Day Dinner. Through the evening I put down about 18 beers. The room was beautiful, but man, I woke up Christmas morning and wanted to die. I was so hungover, so sick, I could not even eat the wonderful meal my wife and mother-in-law made. That moment still sticks in my mind. It has been great enjoying this holiday with no booze and no anticipation of a hangover tomorrow.
