Odd question... would you... ?

I think I've mentioned before in posts that I tend to need a little levity in my life no matter what the subject. My drinking past's no different... So-

How many of you would wear a t-shirt similar to "I was keelhauled by Capt. Morgan"? (or whatever your demon was)

Is this funny, or do I have a really, really strange sense of humor that I think it's funny and I would wear it?

I'm all for levity, in sobriety and everywhere else.

If I saw that t-shirt on somebody, I'd smile--although honestly I'd wonder if they were interpreting it the same way as me (ie, alcoholic), or just thought it was a risque thing too wear. Wayyy too many Che shirts on people with giant peace signs on their backpacks.

My t-shirts tend to be of the "plain" variety, however, so, no I probably wouldn't wear one.

Have two tees from Antigua, Waddadli sp? beer, only wore one of them a few times. Part of the problem, aside from the fact that they advertise beer, is the transfer on the back is very large, and feels clammy when wearing the tee.

Makes it much easier to never wear them.

Outside of wearing my NFL shirts to watch games
I have only 1 shirt with writing.

It's from my first AA home group in D.C.
"Westside Club...Keep coming back it works"
I bought it in '89 soooo....

No, I would not wear one.

If I saw one I would smile without comment.
What others choose to wear is up to them.

I actually have a couple of horrible alcohol-related tattoos, but at least they are easy to hide. I admit that t-shirts and bumper stickers with messages like "Do it sober!" make me cringe. It's a little too public service announcementy.

To tell the truth, if I saw a T-shirt like that on somebody in public I would tend to think they are a heavy drinker/partier.

There is a guy with 7 years proper sobriety who sometimes comes to meetings in a jack daniels t-shirt...if you have ever been to Gibraltar you would understand...the thing is i honestly think it is because he only has a handful of t-shirts and this was obviously a freebie?!

Am moving back to the UK for a while soon, if i saw it there i would think he was taking the **** and not be impressed at all!

My life is an example of hope, faith, & love because of this simple spiritual program of recovery.
i will not carry a confusing message in what i do, what i say, or by what i wear. It's my choice.

I think it's funny and I think you should wear it to an AA meeting.

I like the humor and the self-confident air wearing a T like that would impart. I think I'd be too self-conscious.

Some friends got together and bought me a "Sober & Crazy" t-shirt. I usually only wear it around Halloween -- mainly because it's orange and long-sleeved.

(Although I do think "keelhauled by Capt. Morgan" is hilarious)

Peace & Love,
Sugah
