Going through I rough spell
Somebody I know I'm very close to is terminally ill, I've just been involved in a car crash (nothing to do with drinking). Ive get other pressures such debt. I have to be strong for my family
Basically I'm going through a really bad patch all I can say I'm glad I have sober time behind me.
I feel physically sick am unable to sleep its similar to withdrawals, drink is crossing my mind.
I wont drink!!! This continuing spate of bad luck cannot hold out for ever. Just came on here for support.

Hang in there kurtrambis! There is nothing on your list that can be fixed by drinking, as a matter of fact drinking would make everything worse. I have had my share of feeling like you do now, things got better. Hang in!
I know how you feel. My mother is ill right now and I am taking care of her. I also have debt and my drinking never helped. I need to get back on my feet as soon as possible.
I will be praying for you and for the person who is ill. I hope you can somehow keep your head up.

Sorry to hear that.
Get out of your head as much as possible by talking to others, find a bud here you can IM with. My on-line "sponsor" if you want to call it that helped me get past the worst of the "ruff patches" in early recovery and i am glad i always had someone to talk too. There will always be ruff patches but the more tools you gather and the more sober time the less alcohol crosses your mind as a solution.

I'm so sorry your having so deal with difficult times.
Mega
Were you injured in the car crash?
Yes....it's an unpleasant/painful time
I'm glad you are able to see that your returning
to alcohol would be not in your best interest.

When i am going thru difficult times it does not feel beneficial,
but as i stay the course, i learn something that is very helpful.
Keep your friends close & stay true to yourself no matter what!

Didn't drink but won't say it didn't cross my mind thankfully the feelings aren't as strong as they used top be.
Again thanks for everybody's helpful and supportive responses.
The person who is ill is comfortable and appears in good spirits.
I'm feeling a lot better and calmer.
