Being sober is a good way to live....
Have you talked to your doctor about how to de tox?
That's always a wise idea.

One day at a time, to thine own self be true. Make sure your not drinking for yourself. Keep your life as simple as possible and memorize the serenity prayer and make your answer to every question. Keep comming back.

I'm not going to wish you luck, because that's not what it takes. Lots of good decisions and hard work, yes.

I would like to welcome you

Welcome to SR! I agree that it's not luck that keeps us sober, but hard work and determination. Post your questions and read our stories. I'm glad you joined our clean and sober family.

What a coincidence. I know one way to do it!!
It's the program of recovery as outlined in the book Alchololics Anonynous.

How do I know it works? Because I was a hopeless alcoholic and tried it out.

Result? I haven't had a drink in over 3 years . Prior to that , I hadn't been able to go ONE DAY withouth a drink for over five years.

And there are millions more like me who have the same story.

I could on, but it first I'd have to ask -are you interested??
