I cant go into my rehab place until I cut down.

Anyone know any good ways of cutting down.

I have to go back again and I have to be breathylised.

Anyone got ideas Ive cut down loads but they say it aint enough.

I gotta go next week I need to sort it out.

If I knew how to 'cut down', I wouldn't be an active member of SR today :P

Geez, Tripp. I don't know. They give you a breathalyzer to enter rehab? That's wonky...aren't they supposed to help people quit? I'm sorry.

Is there some place you can go where you can get help to detox? Go to the hospital maybe? I could never cut down...I always ended back where I was. I hope you can find a way to quit safely

[QUOTE]

That is the first rehab I've ever heard of that you have to cut back to get in... I'd consider another rehab..

I don't know either Never been to rehab
or taken a brethlizer test.

Is this rehab for alcoholism?
Are you supose to quit completely before you go?
How many ounces/units per day is ok by them?

Perhaps other members will have knowledge ..

Where I am from ....rehab won't take you unless you have a few days dry . The idea being they are not "drying out houses" and you will not be able to take in or hear anything if the first week is used up coming off drink. for some that means hospital to dry out first then rehab... for some that dont drink every day that means just keeping a couple of days off it, and for some it means doctor and medication where the rehab eventually take you off that too. rehab varies from 28 days to 8 weeks here

never heard of this kind of rehab?

i would try it anyway, and i know it is hard, but will be worth it in the end!!!! yea, i know, you;ve that before and does not help much now, sorry.

maybe find a detox, 1st or a rehab that will take you on the condition that you are just an addicted person wanting help?

i am the queen of relaspe, my IOP couselor has decided to put me on a "i can drink this day this much" kinda program i have to stay sober 5 days a week and get to drink a specific amount the other 2 days. when i relaspe, i beat myself up so bad, but i find it hard to not drink, cause right now i am bascially forced not to drink, so i can come to class?
it is like for me, if i try to diet, all i do or think about is eat!!!! just my silly story?

i know you will make the best decision for yourself! yes, it is hard, but the rewards are uncomprehensionable?

God bless!

:ghug

Yeah its an alcoholic rehab they are really strict.
My breathalizer has to be really low everytime I go or they just talk to you and send me on my way. They want it down to 25 units a day.

Thanks for clarifying Tip...

I called 4 fellow AA members....
and all said they arrived drunk.

Then they had a 4 day medically supervised de tox....
moved to a dorm for rehab assistance.

They went to 4 different rehab centers...2 went twice
and these were private facilities...28 days in duration.

All that to say....darn if I know but
and best of luck

Initial reactions this sounds ludicrous, but after thought i guess they do not have the facilities there for a serious medical detox perhaps? We will help you quit smoking but you have to have stopped smoking before you get here hehe kidding;-)

On a serious note, how to cut down, well this is what i would do if it were me and i was in the usual not being able to give up for more than one night phase i was in for so long, i would get myself as many creature comforts around my bedroom. Move the telly in, book, food, etc. I would even go as far as to put all my clothes away somewhere. Then you can accept that you have to spend 3 days staring at the ceiling, in a horrible place mentally and then on the third day get down to rehab break neck speed and say right ******* breathalyse me!

This place is detox as well as group therapy.

But they want me drinking less because of the health complications, fits, DT's and that.

If you have DT's I recommend detoxing in a hospital.

Good Luck Tripp, get someone to stay with you and try like hell to cut back give your money to your parents hole up do what you have to my prayers are with you I know the type of place your heading too and I hope like hell you can get the help that you need, i am all for detoxing at the hospital, check into detoxing somewhere first where it is safe DO NOT HOLE UP BY YOUR SELF it is DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!! When you drink a lot like you are letting me to believe you are it is the absolute worst thing in the world to do!!!!

Good Luck and God Bless,
Pamm
