Day Two

I admitted to myself this past weekend that I'm an alcoholic. Every Friday and Saturday I get wasted and spend all day Sunday recovering. I'm fine during the week, but every weekend turns into a binge for me. I'm tired of being imprisoned by booze.

Not too many people start drinking every day of the week from the very start.

There are other things to do on a weekend then to waste them by drinking!

Why not make a plan for something to do on
those nights......that will not involve drinking?

I do hope you keep sober ...Welcome to SR..

Hey skipjack,

I am in the same pattern. Sober for 2 weeks (I count weekends since I binge) and counting... I feel the same way - I think if you can get a few 'wins' under your belt (a few months sober), if you're anything like me, it should get better with time. Anyway, I wish you the best - I think part of the battle is remembering how bad it was. I think that's how this site is the most helpful.

Welcome to SR Skipjack, why not find a sober activity to do this Friday, possibly an AA meeting or 2? Same thing on Saturday, what will it hurt? Md. has some great folks in AA that do a lot of stuff sober.
