Of course you are nervous....

I have no idea....but...do you think taking
along your ER papers might be wise?

I took my rehab papers with me for my court date for three disorderly conduct charges in four days, during one of which I attempted to assault a police officer. $50 fine.

Grateful that happened to me and one year sober as of yesterday.

Our thoughts & Prayers will be with you Patrick. I know going to court can be scary as hell! Unfortunatly, I had to make more than my share of appearances in court, two of which ended with me walking through that side door with silver bracelets on, holding my sentencing papers and being escorted to a cell by Sheriff's. Boy, am I glad those days are over!

I imagine you'll either have a private attorney or a public pretender (oops, sorry) public defender with you. I would think that the mention that you have come to the realization that you are an alcoholic and have not only gotten clean and sober, but are working a Program of Recovery with the help of AA could be nothing but beneficial to you. Ask your attorney. . . they can advise you the best.

Let us know what happened. Hang in there Patrick and keep it One Day at A Time, you're doing beautifully!

God Bless,
Judy

Yes taking any kind of treatment papers will help. I was looking at jail time for pot and they dropped it because I was getting help.

And people do make mistakes in life. At least you are doing somthing about it and that shoud be concidered by the court.

Wish you the best.

We don't have breach of peace in Chicago but if it's anything like Disorderly Conduct, I wouldn't worry about it.

i just got home from court, charges dropped and fined 90 dollars for creating a public disturbance.Im happy.

The lesson i learned from this is DONT DRINK,the lesson the bouncers and drunks that beat the crap out of me is take some kind of karate or self defense classes cuz it was just me vs. many!! and i held my ground until blindsided from behind! Police report was off going by the statements the manager said but when they arrived it was one man kneeling on my right arm,one kneeling on my left and one kneeling on my back,so who the hell was choking me then? lol

Im just glad its over and I can go on focusing on staying sober now.I finally got a full night sleep last night.

ill be hitting up a meeting later and do some reading and maybe a long walk in between.I feel so releived right now,I gotta be honest tho,I did have a slight craving for a beer or 20 on my drive from the courthouse but selftalked myself out of it.

Patrick, I'm glad everything worked out for you in court.

Now, on you can really begin to focus on your Recovery. Have you gotten a Sponsor or at least a temporary one?

I appreciate your honesty about wanting to drink after court. Being honest is a huge part of Recovery.

Keep up the good work my friend, I really like the new you.

God Bless,
Judy

10 days is awesome Patrick, glad court went well for you. Wanting a drink after leaving court with 10 days of sobriety sounds perfectly normal to me! LOL Hey you didn't pick up, as long as we don't pick up we stand a chance.
