Back again

I'm giving up again.

I'm going on Naltrexone. The community doctor told me that I should go to my GP and ask him to monitor my detox and get him to prescribe some diazapam, but I really dont want to go to my GP with this.

Does anyone have any home detox tips?

EDIT: How about I read the sticky thread.. doh.

I'd be listening to the community doctor.
Be both safe and sober...

Yes...the sticky post is still there.
Do note that not one of us had the exact same symptoms.

Welcome back...

That thread gave me the guilts so I made a quick appointment with my GP.

I gave him the lowdown (15 standard drinks 5-6 times a week) and he said 'You'll be fine, dont worry about it. Alcohol is the easiest addiction to give up. Ill give you some sleeping pills and anti depressants if you like. Heh, I wouldnt have known that about you.'

I'm glad you checked with him.
Don't hesitate to call him or go to an ER
if you run into any problems.

What's a problem....
anything that scares you during withdrawal.

Keep posting ...we do understand

I'm glad you went and checked with your Dr. Better safe than sorry any day and despite what he told you withdrawals from alcohol can kill you! It is always best to seek medical help. Best wishes to you on your detox.
