Once again
I'm tqconq btw, I just forgot my forum password unfortunately.
Last time I posted was about a month ago I think, I've drunk since then.
I had a pretty good day yesterday, thought I'd come here and read some stories of recovery to get some support.
The thing that got me though, was a post about how dangerous giving up could be. Now, I've been in detox a few times before, but reading about strokes and such triggered my anxiety, so I thought I'd take my Librium, whithout the doctor telling me anything was wrong, and just have a few glasses to ward off the physical reations.
The thing is, I know damn well I've never experienced that level of withdrawel, but my mind was telling me to get something 'Just in case'.
In my last detox, I clearly remember he doctor asking if there had been any signs of withdrawel, and the nurse said 'no, none'
I think this is just a case of the disease bringing on anxiety, but I don't see my doctor till tuesday.
The question is, will maybe half a pint or a pint of alcohol WITH Librium help or hinder me?
My Doctor semed unconcerned, but then he didn't take my blood pressure while i was sober either.
I guess I just don't know how to go about it.
I did feel better knowing I had some alcohol in the house in case things got out of control, but I dont want to need to rely on the alcohol.
Thanks for listening.

hey conq - welcome back ...
hell, I'm no doc.
I don't know a thing in the world about that stuff. (librium)
You go to the doc on tuesday...
how hard would it be to call an ER and see someone there?
like - now, I"m talking.
I don't know where you are or anything ...
but facts are what you're asking for.
and you need a medic for that.
I can do the whole support and encouragement thing...
like while you're on hold or something?

Welcome back to SR!
I am sorry but we are not in any position to give medical advice here and to respond to whether or not it would be ok to mix a drug and alcohol would be medical advice that no one here is qualified to give. Please speak with your doctor about this. You can always call an emergency room or go in to one if you are having difficulties or concerns. I do encourage you to call a doctor or the emergency room before you mix alcohol with Librium (from a nursing perspective, 20 years nursing, this is definately a combination that a doctor should be supervising).
Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Looking forward to reading posts of your progress.
