Survived Friday the 13'th
Just checking in to say I made it through my 13'th day. Even cut the grass without a beer, or a glass of wine. (was not sure that was doable, had to try it to be sure...lol).
Anyway, feeling pretty good today, it's a different life when your day is not planned around when you can start drinking, making sure there is enough, hiding emptys, etc.
I noticed that I still have almost all the money in my pocket I started the week with.
Took a sniff of the vodka bottle yesterday, it smelled like some of the solvents I use at work. I hope it continues to smell that bad.
I'm on my own this weekend, got lots of plans to keep busy.
Anyone around tonight wanna say hi, I'll be here for a while

Good for you Steve!
I was amazed by how much time I had to do things when I stopped drinking. When I wasn't drinking, I was obsessing about it and it was such a relief to free my mind.
Enjoy your weekend and be sure to check in and let us know how it's going.

Hey Steve,
I can understand what you are saying about cutting the grass and not having a beer..... I used to have a beer after and sometimes during any manual work, washing the car, DIY etc.
I don't anymore and its amazing how much better the results turn out as I used to have that "one" beer and then it was, well you get the idea !
Good on ya
Dave

Amazing what all we can accomplish without that drink! Right after I quit, I began home schooling my youngest 2 children. We are having a blast with it, we spend tons of time together, they are learning, we get a lot done around the house too, we go to the library regularly and other outings, and I get to do all of this and REMEMBER it all! Woohoo! I'm watching them learn and grow right before my eyes. And I've rediscovered the joy of good coffee.
