Congratulations Taz!! Hope you have a wonderful day - you're an inspiration on here and helped many people on their journey. Wish I could do those big smiley things.
Love from across the pond xx
PS - Please may I have a dollar for everytime you've said "I drank for 40 years" (Only kidding - brit sense of humour!!!)

Folks I owe this all to all of you, to the program & fellowship of AA.
Thank you all, you are the ones that helped me stay sober, for me it is no longer I, it is we.
One reason I am on here so much is to give away what has been given to me so freely, you see I have nothing more to offer anyone other then what has been given to me, I have been told that in order to keep it one must give it away! Early on I really did not get that, but as I worked the steps the world became less about me and more about we, since it was not about me I have found that I need to pass on freely what was passed on freely to me.
I honestly love every one of you, I owe each of you a bit for my sobriety, hearing your joy in sobriety, the pain of life in general, the pain of withdrawal, the madness of early sobriety, the pain in relapses, all of it has helped me and others.
Alcoholism for me is not something to be recovered from alone, thank you all for being part of my recovery.

Congratulations Taz! What you write here helps me every single day -
it helps me keep my head straight, not pick up, remember what's important and what's not. It's hard to believe you were drinking only a year ago - the wisdom and joy you've accumulated is so huge. Have a fantastic day!
