I lost my way
Hello all.
I quite drinking on July 15 and made it 20 days. Since early August I have been up to my old ways, drinking, dipping, cigars, missing work, feeling like ****, etc.
I am not going to drink today.

Hi Golfer,
Welcome back!
I'm glad you're trying again and staying sober today. What else did you do when you stopped drinking to help with your recovery?
Keep reading and posting because there is lots of support and inspiration here.

Slips (Sobriety losses Its Priority) happen but if your like me, you come to terms with knowing we all have one more drunk or high in us but we may not have another recovery.
Are you going to meetings?
Do 90 meetings in 90 days and make sobriety a priority , one day at a time.
Get a sponsor, go out for coffee. Change everything about the way you live.
Accept your best plans got you this far and learn HOW to stay clean and sober.
It takes
Honesty
Open Mindedness
and Willingness.
Give yourself a chance, if you don't like living clean, you can always go back to using. The misery is fully refundable
You can do it and it's worth it
Peace

Welcome back jdp like I have heard said so many times, stopping is easy, staying stopped is hard.
For me I had to change to stay stopped, I spent years stopping drinking and never changed a thing about myself, oh I did things I normally did not do, but I did not change me, this always led me back to drinking, I was the same guy who drank whether I was drinking or not.
I kept trying to quit my way for so long that I finally wound up having to drink every day just to feel normal, I could not, not drink!
Detox followed by change has kept me sober, the change was for me done through AA.
jdp what did you do to stay sober those 20 days to stay sober?
What do you plan on doing differently this time?
