Hey Guys!
Hey Guys!
Hey guys. This is my 5th day sober and I'm proud of myself however I'm still having withdrawels. I've been staying busy with projects, exercise, books, and my 3 year old but alcohol still lingers in the back of my head. I know I can beat this thing. Hope you all are doing great! ;o)

congratulations!
Pat yourself on the back!
As you probably know the withdrawals do pass with each sober day. your body will start healing itself too. Oh all the bonuses of being sober!
Just think how much money that you have already saved too! in fact I cant believe I used to spend so much money on the horrid booze.
Make sure you do something special for yourself each day, dont do too much. remember the word recovery! Your brain has also been out of whack from the chemical interference that alcohol causes and the brain takes a while to sort itself out. so if you have a 'bad' day, just know its normal and we all go through it in recovery (especially the early days)
I was never able to do a week sober without the help of a detox centre, so your doing better than I did!!!
Keep us posted with your progress
Have a great day too!

Congrats on your 5 (6) days, keep at it, keep an open mind and be willing to change, I tried for 10 years to stop drinking and because I did not change myself as a person I always drank again, for me the key to staying sober was the willingness to reach my hand out for help and to change the person I was.
The times in the past that I tried to stop I was a drunk when I was drinking and I was still a drunk when I wasn't drinking. I changed I am no longer a drunk as a result I have had the urge/need to drink lifted from me.
