What kind of job do you do if you don't mind me asking? It does sound like one of those so bizzare-it's-funny situations though. Upper management made a bad call!!

Bagger,

If someone was checking my attendance and especially grading me on my sharing skills at an AA meeting, I'd never walk into that meeting again. My first reaction is WTF???Who's idea was this???

Never seen that, but last night a fight broke out between two dudes over a girl. Ah, the 13th step shows it's true rewards. But a report card??? You've got to be kidding.

There might someone doing some research on recovery and is using the meeting to gather stats. At a meeting I used to go to, psych students from a nearby college sometimes attended and took notes. It was generally tolerated but kind of off-putting.

This is not good. This breaks a number of traditions and is not condusive to good recovery, IMHO.

I would go shopping for a new meeting, in a heartbeat. I would also tell the local intergroup what is happening there. If I ever visit a meeting like this, I would tell them what I thought of it.

No joke. These two dudes atrted up in the parking lot the night before, and then last night got into it in the room before the meeting. I was a bit put off, I mean really...take that crap to the bar if that's what you're into.

Well....my first thought is the group may be doing a group inventory.
This could have been decided in a Group Concious.

To my knowledge....and I don't have an AA Servce manual to reference....this is not the method recommended by AA.

I would not have participated even if I was a member.

Ok,

In my groups we have a phone list of all of the group members.

Strictly voluntary.

First names and last initials only.

Every once in a while the list is sent around the meeting so that corrections may be made.

That may be what was going on...?
