Pretty Cool
I just typed my sobriety date into the sober calculator...
Apparently today is my 1,000th day sober! That's cool!
ALL by the Grace of God, the Fellowship of AA, who taught me how to work a Program called Alcoholics Anonymous, from a book called Alcoholics Anonymous...
These forums have always helped me as well, I hope I can stick around and maybe help some folks -- I was never one for the 'heated' threads, so I guess I can just share what has worked for me -- that's really all I know anyway!!!
Going into a very busy week -- but wishing everyone a GREAT one!!!
God Bless...

Congrats to you, NoMo.
That's wonderful. It's the experience, strength, and hope of the people that have been around a while the lets me know that I too, can continue to achieve sobriety, one day at a time.
Thanks and Blessings

Hey you!
you are such an awesome example of the power of the AA program, of God and the beauty of recovery. Well done, Ken! You've helped so so many people including me - especiallywhen i was in the cycle of moderation, despair, denial, and back again! Thanks for your faith in me and your wonderful example. Today I am so grateful for my sobriety, for my HP, for my homegroup, the program of AA and people like you that I have met on my journey in recovery.
You are a superstar - well done!!!!!
I'll be in touch soon!
Much love

Great job bud! I am new here and can't imagine 1,000 days sober. Good for you. As a person just starting this voyage, do you ever "want" to drink anymore? My buddy quit smoking 4 years ago and told me that there are times now when he wants to smoke (nothing crazy just marginal cravings). I'm curious if alcohol is this way.
Again, good job!
Again, good job!
That's great! I have 998 today. It is nice to see others with about the same amount of days as I have. Most of the people in the meetings that came in at the same time as me have relapsed.

no, I don't get 'cravings,' nor do I have the desire to drink.
That is only due to my Higher Power (God) and the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. Oh yeah, I had to do my part to (work the 12 steps) and still do every day (practice the principles in all my affairs -- that's PRACTICE, not perFECT)...
I know, though, that if I let me thinking get the best of me, and start letting my alcoholic voice shine through, it will eventually lead me down a dark path. That's why I need meetings, fellow alcoholics to talk with (and chat with online!) and a program, to teach me how to live without that awful obsession of alcohol....
PM me if you need details!
Late night, long day -- good night all!

jdp I only have 309 days, but I agree with every word ken has said, AA works if you work it!
