Four months sober
Four months sober
and I'm feeling great! Hasn't been without its struggles, but nothing that I can't handle NOW.
I'm grateful for it, and also for the people here and in my life who share their stories..

Congratulations MM. For me, at about 4 months a small, almost imperceptible shift happened - from feeling like I could not drink, to feeling that I did not want to drink. A small change, but it meant that I was in control, not alcohol. Staying sober became a lot easier after that.

Thanks everyone..and Fraankie, yeah..no soccer but it's a great feeling to be "here" for my kids! My girl bought me roses to celebrate and said she was proud of me. I am full of gratitude for being able to be "here" for her too.
To the newbies: It DOES get better. My life ain't perfect, I have no job, a broken fridge, a sick dog,a wacky exH, but instead of throwing my hands up and picking that wine up and doing nothing, I'm able to think clearly and do what needs to be done. What a difference! You can feel like this too!!! Keep trying! Reach out!
