As Liz said, I too have been through this with one of my children. She's 30 now as was in jail again as recently as two days ago. I hope your daughter recovers and that you survive the recovery. Good luck and prayers to both of you.

My thoughts and prayers remain with you and your daughter during this difficult time. Laurie said it all. Please take care of you. Your daughter is in G*D's loving hands. I pray she experience a complete refuah shleyma -- renewal of body and spirit.
Shalom!

we'll meet with her and the hospital staff today at noon. we're hopeful the docs have some suggestions for her to consider. thanks, everyone. these are hard days, and we are leaning on friends, family, our hp to guide and encourage us. grateful she had folks watching over her and that survived the binge. blessings, k
Hi K, if you make it through GT's yard, I have a full
yard to...You know, I feel as though I have gotten
to know you, at least a little through SR, and this all
seems so senseless, but I feel like I just want to take your
daughter by the shoulders and shake. Now I know no approaches
such as this will ever work, for anybody, but it's what I feel...
I hope you are taking care of you, and I'm sure your yard is
looking great...(((((((((((K)))))))))) your friend in recovery, Sharon

so funny that you would offer me your yards to weed, i spent two hours last night in my neighbor's yard pulling weeds she is an excellent gardener, but has bad arthritis now, so i help her when i can. her son is a 15 plus year recovered alcoholic, she understands my need to stay busy..
the rehab offered my daughter a bed, and more treatment. insurance is there. she agreed to stay. when halfway finally caught up with her and admitted her to hospital - her alc level after 5 or so hours of sleep was at 3.6. she will kill herself if she does not stop.
she wanted hubby and i to bring her a meal and some cash to pay off some of her cell phone bill. we refused. last we heard she was taking our names off her hospital record as contacts/release info list. so we won't be accepting any calls at this point.
thanks for all your prayers.

Wow K,
That's really tough news, but you sound like you are handling it extremely well - I'm so glad that you and your husband are standing firm. I'll be praying that the message gets through and for both of you as well.
Take care,
PR

If she had a BAC of .36 after 5 hours of sleep she has a VERY high tolerance for alcohol. I believe most "normal" drinkers would be dead at .40 BAC. Perhaps she has other issues besides alcoholism, like maybe depression or something? I have a mental illness that makes staying sober extremely hard, although I am doing it. I wouldn't get discouraged too much (I know it's easy for me to say) because I think she does want to really get sober.
