Smile SR helped my get to AA!

Thanks to everyone here who is so supportive. I joined 4 days ago and posted my story of my journey from my first drink in high school to my last this past friday. Ten years almost to the day since i started drinking, i've decided sobriety is for me. For the last four days, i've been on lockdown in my house experiencing gut wrenching guilt and anxiety for all the things i can *remember* i did and even worse for all the things i can't *remember* i did. After reading responses to my first post on here, i found the strength to make it to my first AA meeting tonight. It's amazing to see that i'm not on my own. AA looks to be a very positive way to support another human being in their struggles with alcoholism. I was scared at first, but you guys got me to do it. Thank you. For those that are scared to go, don't be, you will find ALOT of comfort in knowing that there others close by that are no different than you in their struggles. Good luck to everyone with their struggles. I only hope that throughtout the course of my recovery and struggles, i can be of as much help to others as you on here have been for me.

Thanks
Brant

Hello Brant

I am so happy that you found help and support in AA

It makes it so much easier to stay sober when we have fellowship and support.

Congratulations on your 5 days,

Love, Rose

Just posting what you did may very well be the spark that will lead someone to sobriety, I am very happy for you, so many have ill concieved prejudices against AA and are totally shocked when they go to their first few meetings and discovered they were totally wrong.

I fought and fought going to AA.

When I finally got there, I found I was warmlt welcomed and readily accepted. It's the best thing that ever happened to me.

Brant, I'm really happy to hear that you want what other AA'ers have. Being in the program has given me a life unlike anything I've ever imagined. It's always good to know that someone else will be joining us on the road to happy destiny!
