Question Post Super Bowl Check In....

Well....
I watched the game with a room full of sober
AA members.

I am curious as to how y'all managed the evening

Wanna share?

(from the 12 step thread with Carol's permission)

*barb's face the first 35 seconds of the game*

LOL !

I thought we were done for - I hollered so loud, the horses in the pasture next to me looked up!!!!
(not gonna say WHAT ... I hollered; let's just say that some snow melted)

what fun.

During the third (yeah, the dreaded third), I happened to look around the room. I was amazed at what I saw. I was surrounded by people who, for whatever reason ... were placed in my path by none other than the Creator It/Him Self ... all with the same 'disease' , all having had their 'bottom' experience ... yet at the same time, all were spared. All were laughing (well, ok maybe not ALL ... but you get the drift) all were happy to be there, celebrating what has come to be probably the most exploited and at the same time globally unimportant event in the greater scheme of things ...
happy. hopeful. healthier.
wow.
What a world.

after the game we all went upstairs for a meeting. What an appropriate ending for an altogether fab day.

hope everyone is well ... and thank you all too!

I'm not a football fan either. Honestly wasn't sure if Super Bowl Sunday was this w/e or next until I called my daughter and she was heading for a Super Bowl party. My husband and I cut and split three tree-length logs into firewood, had dinner and watched "Grease, You're the One that I Want" (my idea, not his), the news and went to bed. Don't even know who won! 14 days sober last night!!!

Congrats on 14 days nanita. I spent the whole Super Bowl putting my quad back together (sober) after putting it in a creek the day before ( sober). It went into 4ft of water so I had to take it apart. Time is crucial when the motor gets water logged. I also missed a big AA/NA Super Bowl Party. But, its cool. My quad is running good again and my Super Bowl is in Daytona in 2 weeks.

For me it was great to be sober and know that the game was all but over in the 3rd quarter when I turned it off!

We had a great Super Bowl BBQ at our Fellowship Club! I showed up early and helped set up, stuffed my face, watched the start of the game, chaired a meeting in another room, fed my face again and watched some more, and then attended another meeting.

I even remember the game! Sober football rocks!

Angry

My Chicago Bears lost. ;( I was so angry and sad. A few years ago I would of been so drunk I would not of even cared. Watching Wrecks Grossman throw away the game sober was very painfull.

We turned down an invitation to go to a little get-together and stayed home. It really didn't matter to me who won but my oldest son was pullling for the colts so he was happy.

Went out for Thai food, came back at halftime, enjoyed the Prince performance. Watched the rest of the game. First sober Superbowl in almost 20 years. nice to not be hung over for work the next day. : )

Even though the Bears lost it was alot of fun.
First one sober for me.
