Hi all.

I'm new here, although I've been lurking and reading for weeks. Today I'm embarking on my first day of sobriety. (again!) I am tired of feeling tired, tired of being ashamed of myself. I'd begun to think that I must actually be insane, because I keep drinking even though I don't want to. It's funny, I kept doing everything I could to stop drinking except for the most obvious - not picking up a drink. I think I've finally gotten my head around the concept, though.

I found the sticky about "Under the Influence" really eye opening. The other sticky about withdrawls convinced me to see my doctor before quitting, and she prescribed a medicine to help.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for being here, and for the information.
