I am grateful to everyone in the chain between me and Dr Bob and Bill W in 1935 and all who have come along since I found Overeaters Anonymous in 1994.
The judge at that time strongly urged my continuing attending AA if I wanted to remain free in the streets and not locked up.
I was at the jumping off point right then and there.
Funny thing, I was going to remain silent last night about my 20 years when there were some people reveling in their personal sobriety milestones. The reason behind that 12 years prior I was picking up and 8 year coin and I was puffed up with pride thinking no one would be picking up a coin with more years. Lo and behold, a guy that just retired from the military came in and picked up a 16 year coin
Seriously though, this forum provided me a safe place early in recovery between meetings. I can never thank you all enough for that.
