Experience is the greatest teacher!
Experience is the greatest teacher!
It is no platitude to say that,'experience is the greatest teacher.'
With this in mind and the fact that the whole of the suggested 12 Step programme of recovery offered in the book 'Alcoholics Anonymous' (4th Ed.) together with the fact that there is a complete Appendix 2 titled.appropriately 'Spiritual Experience.'
I came across this today, which really resonated with me,
' We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
'We are spiritual beings having human experiences.' -Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
Which , on reflection seems a pretty sound way to approach those same suggested 12 Steps to reap the full benefit from what they offer....

Thank you! This is helpful. I have been being really hard on myself for experiencing cravings when I find myself in situations that are reminders of pasts I want to ignore. But this is a great reminder that I need to stop and reconnect in some way to my higher power, which I believe is all around me I just have to open myself up.
