I need some advice. I have a sponsee who went back out and for the past 10 days she's up to 6 bottles of wine a day and it's round the clock drinking. The thing is she went to the ER because her BAC was so high, she doesn't have the money or insurance for treatment so they prescribed her librium and sent her on her way. Now she's drinking and taking the librium. She wants help and desperately wants to stop because she is aware enough to know that she's going to die if she doesn't but the catch-22 is that she is afraid of detoxing without the help but has no money for treatment. Can anyone who has experience with this please share with me?

Here is a example of a free rehab with detox supervision in Michigan. If you can't find any similar facilities in Illinois, try calling them for advice.

isn't the librium so that her body won't go into shock? stop the drinking and use the librium as prescribed for the detoxing.

she needs to call the ER and possibly go back at this point
