Fellowship
Fellowship
Having come to experience this Higher Power which gives me the strength to get and stay sober, it left me wondering why I can't just lean on He/She/It alone? Why the need for a 12 step group and association with my fellow sufferers. The answer is simple. Yes, my Higher Power makes it all possible. But the fellowship reminds me I need to continually tap into that Power. Otherwise, I'll get better and stop doing it.
Of course this is only part of the necessity for the fellowship. It's also nice to rejoin the human race and mingle with those I have so much in common with. Both in terms of the problem and solution. And to hear others experiences in order to validate and authenticate my own. But this reminder I'm given through the fellowship, to continually seek out and connect with that Power which sobered me up, is the one I am thinking of this morning.
God delivers me to sobriety. Fellowship delivers me to God.
