Daily Reprieve

"It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action
and rest on our laurels.
We are headed for trouble if we do,
for alcohol is a subtle foe.
We are not cured of alcoholism.
What we really have is a daily reprieve
contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition."

Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 85

Thought to Consider . . .

The road to recovery is always under construction.

IMO out of the 200+ promises in the Big Book this is "THE FINAL PROMISE":

"We have recovered, and have been given the power to help others."
(page 132)

However, I am not cured. It is kind of like being recovered from a gunshot wound in that it does not make me bulletproof.
