Reckless, Unmindful
I just heard a woman speak about drinking.
Two word that immediately struck a chord with me were reckless, and unmindful.
She said, "unmindful of anybody else, crazed and reckless, so caught up in my own hurt, deserved to drink because everything else was so horrible and so angry."
I can "so" relate.
I think unmindful is a term in the Big Book.
Found it:
Bill's Story
"Unmindful of his welfare, I thought only of recapturing the spirit of other days"
I guess another good word for that might be selfish, or in our disease.
I know reckless reminds me of the phrase "destructive drinking" out of the 12 and 12.
Thank God there is a way out of that way of life.
