I went to the District meeting last night anyhow.

I tell yall - I really had to buck up and get it in order to get there.
I tried every trick I had for not going.

I decided that in regardless my reservations
of personal association with some
'types' who hapen to also go to meetings
it was not inclusive OR indicative
of ME and MY role as a recovering alcoholic.

I spoke to them in fact
quite frankly about my reservations
essentially what I talked with y'all about
here a month ago...
and ... well ...

I'm the newly elected District Representative.

I'm not sure how that happened....
kind of how I'm not sure how I became District Secretary.
I just went to a District Meeting
and walked out with a new title/job.

So I am now making plans
and have been given the time off from work already
to attend our Area Assembly next month.....
where I can spaeak directly to reps from the State and national Levels.

I don't know why
but I really click in this political aspect of the Fellowship.

I said when I went to my first meeting -
it was like a Horse Association meeting
and I grew UP in those.

I truly don't know -
I definitely feel a gentle hand
larger than my own
giving me a gentle shove forward however.

But you know -
after making up with my kids
and committing to creating a relationship with them
I'm not afraid of ANYTHING any more.

It was like THAT ... the biggest fear whatever
was the key to others
holding things over me....

and man - that's gone now.

I ain't skeered.
