Need prayers for my son

I have come to know and appreciate you all. Please pray for my son. He's 26. He's in a work release one hour away.
We received a letter from him today that he might have throat cancer and I am in the dumbfounded stage. I will go see him Sunday. This is all news to me as I had no idea he'd been sick for the last month. I also don't know the whole story except he simply said in his letter he will be seeing a specialist because his doctor said it might be throat cancer. His symptoms are:

Weight loss
coughing up blood
fatigue
dizziness
blurred vision
headaches

I am extremely worried even though I know I shouldn't be until I get a diagnosis. Please offer anything I can use to stay sane.
Thank you everyone!

Let me add that this is my youngest son.
The oldest son had the staph infection, which is now clearing up.

:praying I do not think it was very smart for a doctor to say " you might have this" Every doctor I have seen waits for test results. So, sorry to hear about your son. Please wait for test results before yu think the worst. :praying

OMG Wabbit I am so sorry this is happening. That is so incredibly scary. You bet I am praying for your son, and for you too. Like Barbara said, wait until all the tests are in because there are so many different things that can cause those symptoms. And even if it is cancer, there's tons of medications and treatments today.

You just stick close to your Higher Power and we'll stick close to you.

Mike

Here it is evening and I have prayed all day. I feel a peace. I feel a calm in my spirit. I do not know what I will see tomorrow. I don't know if I will see an emaciated skeleton of a man. I will fear not. I will not project.
But, I must be prepared.
I am posting because it helps me. Knowing you are all here helps me too.

I went to see him. He's in bad shape. The thing is he can't get in to a doctor! All the prisoners seem to fake it, and when someone is really sick, it is hard to get in.
He has lost a lot of weight and looks bad. He says there is a lump in his throat he feels when he tries to swallow. And, add that to the fact he's in a no win situation inside a prison, well, I am totally at a loss. I feel so helpless as does he. This is one of those times I need friends.

I may not know you in person, but I'm pulling for you and your son. I hope the system wakes up. If you want to do something, I would start by calling the ACLU - most state penal systems really don't like the ACLU even being mentioned, forget getting a call from them. While I don't always agree with their politics, the ACLU can be a valuable tool when you need them.

Here's another place you may find help and support. There are many decent and knowegable people there.

I wish you all the best. I know how difficult it is to see a doctor while in prison; my son was in the same position. Let alone to see a doctor who is decent....

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Shalom!
