can someone here be my sponsor?
Hello aboutdone,
I've never gone through the steps or had a sponsor, but some of us are using the forms here and attempting to work our way through.
Care to join us?

Hello About done,
I've only made it to step 8, so the general rule is one should have been through the steps completely before guiding someone else.
I strongly believe you can get through steps 1-3 by reading on SR. and using the guides here. It is what I did. I did not find my sponsor until I was starting 4. I worked my step 4 with her, a workbook I found online, and my counselor. I had prayed about it and knew it was time to start. Some of it is just journaling and reflection. i had decided if I did not get a sponsor, I'd eventually seek out a priest and ask for an extended confession/meeting.
Another thing I did was use a daily reader to kick off my day with thinking new thoughts and behaviors. I really like Language of Letting Go. It is posted here daily in F&F. Now I have an Al Anon daily reader in my work drawer. It is OK but I really like Melody Beattie's writing style. When I read her, I sort of feel like she is my longtime girlfriend...
I'd keep going to the meetings as you can. My sponsor popped into my meeting and is. It a regular... . Best of luck!
