Recovery is Glorious

I am now around 14 weeks and now seeing the beautiful results of not drinking . My wild mood swings have settled down , I sleep much better and don't need as much of it , my bodily aches and pains are much less ( remember i,m nearly 60 lol ) , my mind is much clearer , my general health is much much better , my outlook for life is very positive . Yes ! there is contrast ; There is illness with my brother , there is problem drinking with my oldest son ( he,s working on it ) . I am able to face everything with a clear mind and compassionate heart . I am sober and active in recovery , this is how it is with me today and I love it all .
My message to all who are struggling no matter what stage you are at is please don't pick up that first drink life is too precious to waste .

Love and peace .

That's why I keep pushing on! I know it's worth it, but the sleep thing has been rough.

Thanks all , as i say its not all roses and have some rough days and the odd urge to pick up at certain occasions but I won't , I just won't forget the terrors of that last withdrawal .
I wish i could plot a graph on my progression and post it say every 3 months . I kind of see it in my minds eye as not a very straight and regular climb up . It would look pretty near the 1s 3s (scale from 1-10 ) for the first 5 or 6 weeks then slowly but still not steadily moving to 4s 5s back to 2s 3s even . It wasn't until around 12 weeks where I started seeing 7s ,8s and falling back to 5s 6s briefly but never back to 1s and 2s . Id say as of now I am hovering around 8s and occasional 9s dropping back to 6s or 7s now and then .

Oh the 1s -2s -3s were so so painful , so disgustingly horrible .
