Not my favorite way to stay sober
So, I have shingles and a secondary infection (cellulitis). It's about the most painful thing I have ever experienced (OK, nothing stacks up to childbirth, but you get the drift). Been sleeping for the past 48 hours just about straight. They tried to put me on percosets for the pain, I declined, Dr said "It's not like you'll get addicted in a week or two." I wanted to say "Lady, wanna bet?" To say that I have an addictive personality is something of an understatement. I did let her prescribe Tylenol with codeine, she must have known what she was saying suggesting percs because man, the Tylenol doesn't even knock and edge off the pain.
They say that stress is a major factor in otherwise health adults developing shingles, and I guess I'd certainly say that the past 25 days have been pretty darn stressful. So, life here at chez Daisy is pretty crummy, although my 4 year old is an excellent and sweet nurse (she brought me water in a sippy cup this morning so I wouldn't spill). Silver lining: I have ZERO interest in drinking.
