Class of July 2013 Part 47
Um, no. You sound like someone with amazing life experience and advice. As does PJ. It's no wonder I respect you guys so very much. ♥
Hi everyone,
Leshar, I hope you'll continue to post. I'm in no position to give advice, but there's been a lot of good stuff said here. Please don't give up ... you're worth fighting for. You always have us
Off to the Amish country this morning to ride a real train. My husband took off this week so we are doing a bunch of day trips. Day 8 for me.
Hope everyone is doing well xxx

Leshar, I hope you are reading. You have been a great inspiration to me. Even with your depression you have 4 years sober. I, too, have depression and anxiety and only made it two. Since 2015 it has been a roller coaster. I always looked at you as an example to follow. You are a beautiful person, the world needs people like you, we need you. Please keep fighting, I am in your virtual corner.
Hi Julyers
Leshar, some powerful words said by your friends here. Depression, Despair, Loneliness cause such overwhelming voids in our lives sometimes, we despair at turning to any help, we don't think we can be helped. We think it may be easier to roll over and get off the world. That would be more tragic than depression and the rest.
It may be time to start at grass roots, like we did when we first became sober. One small baby step in front of another, then another and then another. Until we can walk a few steps towards, helped along by supporting hands and encouraging words.
The mind is a phenomen. It can be 'rewired'! We did it to stop drinking, why can't we change it, nurture it, teach it new things....... Give ourselves the fulfillment of life we deserve.
Sink or swim........ Our choice, our own personal choice.... The chasm is deep and dark, but up here, on sound footing, there is air to breath, life to give and life to live...........
Sink or swim....it's what my step mum said yesterday when she recalled her first husband's tragic death, at a young age. Her father said you have two choices. It can only be your choice, and I hope you choose the right one.
Leshar, I hope and pray you make the decision to 'swim', too. ❤️

Lulu, lovely to see you post. And I hope you continue to post too, Leshar.
Mags, thank you for a beautiful, heartfelt post.
Gilmer, I had to look up Shoofly pie. Oh my. I looked up a recipe online - I think I'm going to try it. Anyone have any good versions to share?

It's very very quiet in here....
Guys.....Nick and I are getting married on September 23rd.
At Scioto River, outside, late afternoon.
It will be small, but there is plenty of room for anyone who can come....if you feel like a trek to Columbus in Spring, we would very much love you to be there. ♥

Congratulations, you guys. May you grow strong and healthy together in recovery.
Not to be a fly in the ointment, but you're showing your Aussie roots: September in the northern hemisphere is autumn, not spring.
