I'm not grateful
I'm not grateful
I'm not grateful for anything. I have ruined my life. I have promised my wife that when we get back from holiday all my drinking will stop...really not sure if I want to carry on.
I wasn't grateful for much when I was drinking either, juancarlos.
Getting and staying sober changed my perspective. You can turn this around and have a good life.
We're here to support you. I'm grateful you reached out today.

What has happened to make things this bad?
Has something bad taken place on holiday?
It sounds like you must have some reasons to be grateful if you are on holiday with your wife.
You can feel better if you want to, just stop drinking and start making plans for being sober.
You can turn it around.
Have you been to AA before?
Have you sort any other types of help?

As you probably know, alcohol is a depressant. It causes nothing but despair for an alcoholic. There is light and hope with abstinence.
We only have to not drink one day at a time. Anyone is capable of not drinking for one day. When confronted to drink, remind yourself that there is no real pleasure in drinking.
One drink leads to, one too many. You will get to the point where you believe alcohol isn't your friend. It's your enemy.
You can do this. We believe in you. Keep talking. Alcohol the beast wants you to isolate. Stay connected. People here understand what your going through. People care and want to help.
