Deep Inside

There are things you can see, things you can hear, things you can touch, taste and smell. And beyond all those, there are things you can know.

There is wisdom within you that requires no outside validation. There are things your heart knows that nothing can dispute.

Don't become so caught up in material, worldly matters that you ignore the miraculous living presence always glowing inside you. Pay attention to the incomprehensible essence that is your life.

In your hands you hold things that, sooner or later, will rust and decay. In your heart you can keep things that are timeless.

Food, clothing and shelter sustain and protect your body. Be sure to sustain and nourish your spirit just as diligently.

Deep inside the person the world sees, is the real and indivisible person you are. Let your inner self play an active and positive role in all you do.

Pay attention to the incomprehensible essence that is your life.
For me, sometimes that means getting out of myself and just enjoying the beauty that surrounds me. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees...other times I like to enjoy every tree. That's how life is for me today and I am grateful.

Hugs

I always love these quotes you post Ann.

I think for me "the incomprehensible essence that is your life" is found when I meditate and the peaceful feeling caries on afterwards or when I just relax and drop the anxiety and live in the moment.

The quote reminds me of something Eckhart Tolle Said about your 'life situation' not being your 'life'.

Posting these readings each morning is a good way to wake up my brain and begin my day with good thoughts. Glad you enjoy them, Stone, it's nice to share them with everyone here.

Hugs

Things like this are the best way to start the day Ann, I agree.

I am waiting on a couple of books to arrive for just that reason, one is 'Just for Today Daily Meditations for Recovering Addicts' and the other is 'Daily Reflections: A Book of Reflections by A.A. Members for A.A. Members.'
