2 years today!
I rarely start new threads but wanted to say that I'm two years sober today. I wanted to let you newer folks out there know it is possible. It is. When I started... Probably a year before I quit, I was obsessed with the fact that I had a problem, it was all I thought about and worried about and I still kept drinking, despite the anger and depression.
Dec 15, Holiday Party at a fiend's house, I precocktailed and kept drinking there and had fun. Until I dropped my phone and it cracked and I turned into a reality TV star.. Screaming, yelling, sobbing, acting like an ass. My partner was ready to leave.
I came here, I went to, and still go to, AA. Life is good. Still have issues (dealing with stressful family situation at this very moment) but this site and the program have helped me and taught me to deal with it sober.
And anyone can do it. Just don't pick up a drink. Try something good for you instead.
Thanks everyone!

Congratulations Tam! You have always been a guiding light to me on SR and I'm so happy to know you, and so happy you're doing well! Never look back!
