Tho well meaning..they could actually be harmful.

another day over. i just keep vomiting (drinking plenty water so dont dehydrate). I see my alcohol team today. Hope its all over soon so i can start recovery.

good luck hope they get it sorted for you as i know how awful it is waiting for the help. got my meeting with the alcohol services tomorrow and ill be counting down the hours lol carrol im gonna phone AA today see what help they can offer me. im not self detoxing cos im scared to so im just waiting and hoping for help asap.

I think the advice given to sharp was right on target. I have only been sober for 30 days (31 today) but have been to a medically supervised detox two times. There they monitor your vitals, give you medications, assess you for P.A.W.S. (post alcohol withdrawal syndrome), do blood work, give you vitamins, make sure you are getting proper nourishment, and at least for me, help begin your path to recovery. So, as you can see, it's a lot more than can be done at home. Why did the ER release you and did they give you detox resources?[/FONT]

The Salvation Army has free de tox facilities in many areas.
Please see if there is one near you

Hope all goes smoothly with this de tox...
