Thank you for sharing this. The reality of alcoholism. I too have made many mistakes and some extremely poor decisions in all aspects of my life. Some days I get down thinking about it all and a bit angry with myself. But this post reminds me that all alcoholics suffer the same stuff. This is the consequenses of the disease. You are don’t thecright thing now though and working through it all trying to re build. Keep at it. Some days I find it over welding but iv got to believe the serenity prayer and also believe those who have walked this walk that it does indeed get better if we stay sober.

But you really can turn all that around, if we can do it you can to!

I recognize myself in most of your list, but it can be better. We can be better.

You have indeed been through many difficulties and losses due to your drinking. Myself and others have suffered some of these and more in our personal accounts. I have had to start from ground zero to start my life over again with respect to everything.

The temptation to ruminate on our current position, to continuously focus on what we have suffered, can be strong. Try to stay aware of and grateful for what you do have now and remain clear about the things that you do now to make things better than the past. A positive attitude is so important if difficult to maintain.

Yes, you can do it.

Yes many other addicts have been through what you’ve been through and more, the best time to start was years ago, the second best time is now!
