New and scared
New and scared
Hello you wonderful people. Past member that fell off the wagon. Ready to rejoin the train for the last time. I know this is my path for my future health and to show my darling 10 Yr old twin boys there is more to life than alcohol. X
Lisa,
I quit because I was falling apart mentally and physically. The downslide is subtle enough that the addiction wins until things get hanus.
I am so glad I can show my family how to live without booze. I didn't usually stay drunk, but I was a binger.
Being super clean makes everything better. It takes time, but the ability to contrast being a drunk to being clean is an eye opener. It took over 2 years for me to get the full impact of what being a non drinker routinely feels like.
I almost accidentally took a sip of a mixed drink last night. I thought it was leamonaid. It was less than an inch from my lips when I smelled the booze and the host said...it has booze.
I wanted to pour it out but didn't want to be awkward. It was awkward, but worth it to me.
Being a non drinker is super cool. I don't believe the hype.
Thanks.
