Paranoia/hypervigilence
I was drinking light beer and since coming off benzos for anxiety am down to one per night to sleep.
My Dr. cant see me until next week.
My qiestion is are paranoia and niightmares normal to experience or do I belong in a psych ward or something.
Thank for your knowledge and experience, because the ER will do nothing for me.

Hi Dandelion
I answered your PM this money but did not see this til now.
Wednesdays are a busy day for me in real life.
I certainly drank enough to experience paranoia and at least auditory hallucinations, if not visual ones.
I got so used to it I called it beer psychosis.
I'm not a Dr but I do know that alcohol withdrawal and benzo withdrawal are both pretty full on experiences - and so is chronic insomnia - and thats it's far more likely to be associated with that than anything about you needed to be hospitalised in a psych ward .
Can you maybe impress on your Dr how badly you're feeling and how urgent it is you see her/him ASAP?
I really hope you change your mind about closing your account. You're among friends here
