Its been quite a few months since I've posted but I'm still on the straight and narrow and just past my one year alcohol free.

I've met a girl and we are hitting it off, she is an occasional drinker but talks of giving it up. I hope she gives it up because it feels as if I've been waiting for her to come along at some point in my life. I've ruined a few relationships in the past due to my drinking and I've learned that if I gave up partying many of my problems would be eliminated.

I spoke to my Mom who has been sober for over 20 years and she thinks I should give my new date a chance and to see what happens. I have no problems being around people drinking but its the excessive drinking and seeing how people change after a few is what seems to bother me nowadays. I associate excessive drinking to lead to lying, cheating, and violence or all three. Good luck to me.
