Back again
Back again
I have been coming here for well over a year now, with 4 months being the longest stretch of sobriety. I've had a month here and there, but always fool myself into thinking I can handle it. I never can. After another blackout night embarrassing myself and being awful to my loving boyfriend, I'm at day 1 again. I went to an AA meeting today, and made an appointment with my doctor so she can refer me to a counselor. I got phone numbers from a few girls at the meeting, and I'm going to keep going. I always start out with a plan but after a few weeks I stop following through. I need to do this, it's beyond out of control. I know I can't do it alone. Thanks for listening, for the hundredth time.
We're glad you're back, Lucie. Hang around a lot - this place can give you lots of support and ideas when you need help. I found it's really helpful to join a "Class" thread and post in a couple other threads regularly - like the 24 Hour Connections or Weekenders threads.
Welcome back, Lucie.
If you come back 100 times we'll all be here for you.
It sounds like you are really done with this. The steps you have taken show how determined you are. That is one of the keys to beating this.

Hi Lucie
Posting here on a regular basis really helped me to make my recovery a new way of life, not just a temporary change.
No matter how many times you've tried before the only time that really counts is this time - give it all you have
